Roll the dice and use the Bluetooth module the preferred fan manufacture offers even with poor reviews.Keep the standard power switch in the wall plate.The Bluetooth module from fan manufacture gets poor reviews and/or seems hit or miss in reliability.Ĭurrent plan (only for lack of any other options based on the variables above):.Wifi module from the fan manufacture is not HomeKit compatible.No Lutron compatibility for the DC controlled fan modules.Ideally though Lutron's app or HomeKit (though this is looking very unlikely). We would like to use our iPhone (at minimum) to control the fans.We would like to avoid adding a poorly designed / looking fan control switch to the wall switch plate.We do not want yet another remote in each room for another item/device.Unfortunately most the Wifi modules are not compatible with HomeKit. The fan manufactures tell us we'll need to use a Bluetooth or WifI control modules instead of the Luton switch.
Unfortunately the Lutron switches are not compatible the modern fans that use DC control modules vs the former AC controlled fans. Plan was to use HomeKit + Lutron Caseta Wireless Smart Fan Speed Control for our new ceiling fans.
